About Us

North Road Sugarworks is owned and operated by Chase and Danielle Buck in the small town of Jefferson NY, located on the northern edge of the scenic Catskill Mountains. The maple operation was initially started by Chase in 2007, when he was just a freshman in college. Maple syrup production has been a tradition in the Buck family for over sixty years, with Chase's grandfather, Charlie, as his greatest influence.

A solid work ethic was instilled in Chase at a young age while growing up on his family’s dairy farm. He started his firewood business at the age of 14 and by his senior year of High School was selling over 100 full cord in a season. Chase was attending college for Agricultural Business when he decided to embark on his solo entrepreneurial journey. He had stocked away just enough money to buy out an old sap operation in Pennsylvania and produced 1100 gallons in his first year! He was hooked on maple after that.

Chase met me (Danielle) in 2010 through a mutual friend while I was attending my last year of Graduate school. I began working as a Career Counselor for at-risk youth and spent every weekend on the farm with Chase. I found that farming was my calling and on a whim, I left my office job and joined the business in 2013. My main goals have been assisting with product expansion, acquisition of new accounts and public relations via social media platforms but my most important role currently, is raising our three children- Cash, Cora and Clay.

In 2017 we approached H2O Innovations to inquire about becoming a distributor for their state of the art maple equipment and have been so fortunate to become part of their vision. We pride ourselves in helping others find their passion in maple syrup production. Whether you are a small scale hobbyist just getting started or a large scale generational operation- we would love to talk maple with you!
